    The mood of the restaurant should meet your expectations, and certainly not disconcert you. If you go to what you think is a nice family restaurant but you find yourself having a hard time hearing anyone as you approach because of the loud music from within, that is not mood appropriate

  • Are the number of choices reasonable?
  • Does the menu match your expectations?
    If you were expecting fine dining and you see what you might in a college cafeteria, you went to the right school. Likely not! The menu really should meet your ideas of how this restaurant feels, and the expectations it builds you up to this point for.

  • Does the wait-staff know the food
  • Do they give you an idea of how long a dish will take?
  • Does the wait-staff make suggestions?
  • Can you easily understand the wait-staff? Do they speak slowly and well enough for you to understand?
  • Eating
  • Is the food warm when it should be, and not when it shouldn't?
  • Are the portions reasonably sized?
  • Paying
  • Do you have to wait a long time to get the check?
  • Do you get the bill soon after you appear to be done? Negative points for too early.
  • Do you have to wait to finish the transaction?
    Once you have the check and appear ready to finalize, the wait staff should be prompt about helping you wrap up your dining experience
